clean coal: the oxymoron continues (2)

(topic continued from yesterday's post)

Rachel Maddow on MSNBC last night:

wow. i've just gotten some more info. on the topic.

excerpt from thisisreality.org:
"The Reality Coalition is a project of the Alliance for Climate Protection, Sierra Club, National Wildlife Federation, the Natural Resources Defense Council and the League of Conservation Voters, and tells the truth about coal today — it isn't clean. We are challenging the coal industry to come clean — in its advertising and in its operations. You can learn more about the reality of "clean" coal here or take action and
help stop misleading coal campaigns."

According to Brian Hardwick, the spokesperson for thisisreality.org, the campaign just launched last Thursday, about a week ago.

while watching the Rachel Maddow show on MSNBC last night, by coincidence/synchronicity with yesterday's fluxlife post, Rachel was interviewing Brian Hardwick.

Rachel Maddow stated that Obama still had clean coal on his alternative energy list, and asked Brian what he thought of that.
Surprisingly, in one of his statements, Brian Hardwick said that if it was possible to remove the pollution from the process of coal burning to create electricity, he would be all for it.

Author and publisher, Tracy Falbe, brought up the point in yesterday's comments at fluxlife, that even if the pollution from coal burning is removed, we still have the environmental devastation of our forests and mountains due to mountain top removal when coal is harvested. a great site regarding mountain top removal, recommended by Tracy, is: ilovemountains.org

P.S. we'll mainain this topic at fluxlife for about another week. so feel free to comment on any of these posts regarding: "clean coal", we'll be checking all the posts under this topic daily. Thanks to all the AWESOME fluxlife readers and commenters !!!, and Happy Holidays to all !!! :D
