I want my account to have one million dollars in it with interest compounded on it at a rate of .75 % daily by 2010, and tax sheltered, in addition to other significant funds and passive income within my finances.

That's pretty funny. I just read a friend's blog that said something to the affect "money = freedom, and who doesn't want that?"

I'm all about investment returns and tax shelters.

If I were to ask someone for what I really want (and thought I had a shot in hell to get it), I'd ask for a beach house (the beach with rideable waves every freakin day), a cool ass dog that likes to hang and a grill to cook fresh seafood on at dusk every single day.

I just finished reading a book called "Feeding Your Demons" and she talks about distinguishing between what we want and what we need. When we are asking for money do we really want comfort or security?? Just asking? Please don't throw any shoes at me!

In the book she gives what seems to me a wonderful example of where her young daughter is asking for a video but what she really wants is some time and attention from her mother.

ZenDotStudio Rocks with a great point!!! We are so veiled in the dross of advertising and what society tells us we should expect and are entitled too, that we have no idea what it is we really want. I think we should take this economic down turn as an opportunity to return to a simpler way of life;-)

Thats it I puttin chickens in the front yard!

Great post Flux!

I have noticed that in this part of the world, need is becoming a rare thing. It is always: I want this, and I want that. But real NEED is ignored for the sake of want.

the art of asking for what we truly want and knowing what we truly need: i think this is a practice within itself.

ouch, that hits me.. hehe
what about my own quote "what irish wants, irish gets" sounds selfish but it really helps me to persevere more..hihi

I wish I had the strength and courage inside me to ask for what I *really* want. And to be free about the decision. I spend too much time worrying about how it will effect someone else.
